It is powered using the included Olight 21700 5000 mAh customised lithium-ion battery, which is recharged inside the torch using the included MCC3 magnetic charging cable. Simply connect the magnet to the base of the Warrior 3S and plug the USB-A end into a USB power source. The indicator light on the magnet will go red while charging is in progress and turn green once charging is complete after approximately 5 hours, 30 minutes when using a 5V, 2A output. Also, charging inside the flashlight stops at around 4.16V. This means that the battery isn’t 100% fully charged yet. And the charge indicator LED turns green long before it’s 4.16V.. it probably turns green at around 4.10V. This will extend the battery’s life. While the Warrior mini 2 reduced the output at anytime during use, and shuts off after 60 seconds, the Mini 3 does not do that. It will continue running in Medium mode, so you will still get warm pants. I’m not sure whether this was a good move? The waterproof features only add to the tactical functionality of the Warrior 3. With max thanks to this product’s waterproofing, you will find yourself on the right side of durability with the Warrior 3. Performance, Modes, Beam Distance Apart from that, the medium mode hits the perfect middle ground when it comes to brightness and runtime, 200 lumens for 13 hours, that amount of light and runtime also make this a worthy everyday carry light. And on top of that, the magnetic tail-switch received an update with new ‘Nano molding technology’ so removing any metal dust will be easier. The other upgrade is a bigger side switch. Oh, and the TIR optic doesn’t have a glass lens for protection. Beam color temperature (CCT) and CRIThere is a battery level indicator built into the side switch that lets you know when the battery needs charging. A green light indicates above 60% power, a orange light indicates 10% - 60 % power a red light indicates 10% - 5% power and a red flashing light indicates less than 5% power and that the torch needs to be charged. In mode configuration 1 (default) you also have the ability to use the light momentarily by holding the switch depressed for more than a second. For flashlight enthusiasts, this might be a con. But it’s probably for your own good. Don’t try to fix something that isn’t broken. If the light breaks with normal use, Olight is likely going to repair it for you, or even provide you with a new copy. If you try to open it up, you void their warranty. I tested this with the Warrior 3S, and discharged so the light would show 3 battery levels, and the Warrior 3S could return to Turbo mode! But, it won’t run Turbo right after it dropped down… this is likely temperature controlled. So you need to let it cool down a bit before you can hit Turbo again. Level 1 will run at 2300 lumens for 2.5 minutes before dropping down to 800 lumens with an additional run time of 160 minutes – this is to prevent the LED from overheating, it will then drop down to 250 lumens, with a further run time of 39 minutes if you want to use the Warrior 3 with a gun, you can get the optional remote pressure switch that attaches to the rear end. The bezel is the typical Olight blue and crenulated, with 3 zirconium beads for breaking glass. And no, uou can’t unscrew the bezel. The output measurements in this review are based on my homemade integrating spheres, each equipped with an Extech SDL400 Lux Meter. For consistency and accuracy, a calibration light (Convoy S2+ with 249lm and a Convoy S2+ with 261lm) is measured prior to each set of lumen measurements. Yes, visible in moon mode! But at high Hz. So not noticeable to the eye unless you swing the light strongly.
