FØ is the latest tech that has been developed by Innokin, designed to improve coil life and Flavour. This is done by alternating current (acm) to produce a waveform that sends the output from two directions through the coil while you vape. Innokin have been around for a decade now and are well known within the vaping industry for producing some quality products. The original Zenith tank was a big hit with vapers and the Coolfire range of mods have also been incredibly well received over the years, so will this new kit continue the long lineage of great devices? But that’s not to say its build quality isn’t up to scratch across the board the Z80 kit is built to a high standard and a very nice finish, so I have no doubt this kit will do you proud and last quite well. Pros Mod The change of coil is a simple but thorough operation. To remove your worn coil you must unscrew the top cap as well as the bot cap. You must then push the coil up and down to get it out through the lower part of the clearomizer. Unscrew the tank base and pull on the resistor. As for the tank, the Zenith II looks and feels like a sequel to the original Zenith and not much like the Zenith Pro that came out in between. It’s a 26 mm tank that fits a whopping 5.5 mL of juice and comes with a series of well-thought-out updates. Better looks, no weird-looking riser for the drip tip this time, three small airflow holes for MTL, a slot for RDL, and the option to remove the glass to clean the tank thoroughly. The airflow ring is also easier to grip this time around, and they’ve added a silicone gasket to the filling hole. Not a huge fan of that, and I’ve had some issues when filling with the mouthpiece on, especially with larger bottles. I would have preferred the sliding mechanism of the Zlide, but it is what it is.

Available in a range of colours, the Zenith 2 has fully adjustable airflow that allows for true user customisation. Innokin has also changed up the mouthpiece so now you can use your favourite tips! The padded material gives the device a nice feel in the hand and due to the size of the Z80 its not particularly heavy, but feels solid and durable. How To Fill The TankThe Zenith 2 tank has a very simple, but very functional airflow system that across the board is smooth and direct. This clever feature will fire your device for 1 second at 40% of your set wattage as a way of ‘Refreshing’ your coil. The Zenith 2 tank will take any of the coils from the ‘Z-Coil’ range meaning the Zenith 2 tank will suit a number of different vapers depending on your preference.

The removable base of the Zenith 2 tank is nicely laser etched with the Platform Series logo and the designers Phil Busardo and Vaping Greek. The manufacturer suggests using evaporators of the Prism S line by Innokin - 0.8 or 1.5 ohms. The characteristics of the coils, as well as a miniature air intake, suggest that we are dealing with a simulated cigarette puff. At the moment, Prism T20S is sold separately, so if you are interested in buying a "cigarette box", you can pay attention to it. For the duration of my testing, I was vaping on Darkstar Code-Red for the RDL experience, a 80VG/20PG mix, and for the MTL experience with the 0.8Ω coil, I used another Darkstar product, Mango Unchained which is a 50VG 50PG Nic Salt. The 0.3Ω Z-Coil (30-40w)Innokin believe this will benefit the life of the coils due to the fact its not always being powered by the same current, but by a current that goes up and down. The tank I think is slightly flawed but superb anyway. It looks good, it’s a piece of quality craftsmanship, and they have made improvements from the original such as being able to remove the glass to clean it and making sure you can put your own 510 drip tip on it. You can use any of the z-coils range which gives lots of choice. The twist to fill works well and the airflow gives a very wide range of options to tailor your vape. If you liked the original Zenith, then you are going to love the Zenith 2 without a shadow of a doubt. I should, by the sound of it, adore this tank and I do, but it’s not quite perfect. It does MTL and RDL well, and the flavour from both coils with the kit is very good indeed. There’s a few other niggles I have with it, such as having to remove the drip tip to fill, plus it’s big for a 2ml tank (not Innokin’s fault though, that’s the TPD monster).I’m not a huge fan of the drip tips either but you can use your own. Admittedly these are just small things and I think it’s a delightful tank indeed, in fact I’d say this is THE best z-coil tank out there for me. The King is dead, long live the King. That’s right, the screw in ‘flappy turny’ style – however they make for a clean finish and the lift up tab makes it easy enough to remove and install. The Innokin Coolfire Z80 kit comes with two different coils which in my opinion are clearly designed for two different styles of vaping – so make note of what’s what and the wattage they recommend before installing because once you fit the coils, its very difficult to see the information on the coils to determine what to set your wattage at.
