Description

The over-ear design is surprisingly light. Despite its low price, no part of the headphones’ construction feels poorly made. They feel durable, too, which is a rare thing for such a budget price.

We are always impartial and do our best to make sure we're hearing every product at their very best, so we'll try plenty of different types of music and give them plenty of listening time (and time to run in), while the wired headphones that might warrant being used with a DAC are tested with a suitable one. It's not just about sound quality, of course. If a pair has active noise cancellation – increasingly the case these days – we'll ensure part of our testing involves using them in different environments. The AKG K52 headphones have a metal frame that's sturdy but remains lightweight. The headband isn’t adjustable; instead there’s a flexible, cushioned band that springs into place around your head. The K52 headphones are no exception to AKG's reputation for providing high-quality equipment that stands the test of time. To ensure that the headphones can endure whatever is thrown at them, they were put through rigorous testing and abuse. Exaggerated drips are used in their drop testing. The cable is guaranteed to not break or underperform after 80,000 cycles of bending at both ends. The AKG K52 Headphones promise to give great performance whether you're in the control room, the live room, or outside the studio listening to music. They provide the proper amount of performance in a straightforward, but ultimately efficient chassis. You'll be hard pressed to find something that does a better job at this price than these headphones do. The AKG Y50s aren’t an exact comparison, but if you’re curious: the K52s are a bigger, clearer sound with a more articulate presentation.K52 is built to last, with a lightweight but tough construction, high-quality components, and replaceable earpads. The mixing engineer will apply autotune, special effects and all the industry-secret formulas to make your song sound like a major hit. The exposed headband design keeps the K52 headphones comfortably light, without compromising driver size. Breathable, lightweight ear pads encircle your ears, rather than putting pressure on them. And a single-sided cable gives you freedom to move. To sum it up, these high-performance headphones sound, feel and look great. Who says you can’t have it all? They have a pleasant, open sound that blends nicely with a variety of genres. If you're a basshead, however, the K52 isn't the headset for you. It is incredibly light (just 200 grams), making even long listening sessions a breeze. The K52 sits extremely comfortably on your ears, thanks to the self-adjusting headband and velvety earpads, and the level of isolation is more than acceptable. The K52 excels in capturing the subtleties of vocal and instrumental performances, with a well-defined bass end that provides a firm foundation for a clear sound. Because of its low impedance, it can be readily controlled by cellphones or digital music players.

TCL P745, C755 QD-Mini LED 4K Google TVs With Dolby Vision Launched in India: Price, Specifications The K72 & K92 actually only make the K52 worse, as they only amplify the obvious problems. They sound duller in the mids and are more accentuated in the lower range, which sounds unnatural, as well as a bit sharper in the treble, with earlier roll-off in the sub range (K72). The K92 is on the same level in the bass as the K52. These are all minimal differences, but they do not represent an added value. I am of course aware that AKG has enough other alternatives when it comes to natural timbre and neutrality. The three models are a welcome change, as AKG is going a different way, but not like this. At least not with the mentioned marketing, because without any analytical claim you can consume music very well with the K52. In the studio, the models have little to look for, only for short listening or recording. If someone does get lost, then the K52 is the one that sounds most "authentic". The differences between the individual models, however, remain more than manageable and are actually non-existent with the K72 & K92.The highs climb their peak from 3 kHz on quite late and keep the level (like the K52) up to around 7 kHz, but with a more pronounced drop around 5 kHz, where the K52 is more linear. Especially the slightly increased energy around 6 kHz makes the K72 a bit more sharp than the K52, which seems more balanced in the high frequencies. This is supposed to simulate more details, but for me this is rather a disadvantage, because sibilants and sharpness come out more, even if only subtly. Again, I wonder what the intention of the "improvement" was. The headband is self-adjusting and therefore adapts to the shape of the head. Even large skulls should not have any problems with the AKG K72. The wearing comfort on the head is therefore good, even if the headband does not offer any significant additional padding. The 20-hour battery life is very respectable, but you can use them with a wire when they run out of juice. Intuitive ear cup controls are the cherry on an attractively-priced cake. All in all, these are high-quality cord-cutters.
