The problem with this series is the serious side. I just could not take any of the *serious* moments seriously. Maybe they weren't supposed to be taken seriously but they weren't funny either so moments like those always feel wasted. They were some that were below average... those were better ones of the lot. Remember when i said the romance is always fun? I lied. The romance takes hits here and there. More specifically the Firework festival. Its kind of annoying that the author decided to pull this kind of nonsense. He pulls it again but though not forgivable its still pretty damn funny. But Tomo-Chan is one of the rare casee where I feel safe voicing my opinion AND that I feel like recommending the manga. The initial premise is, that Tomo, the main female character is in love Jun, the male lead. She is tomboyish and Jun doesn't notice her womanly features. He socializes all buddy-buddy with her as guy-guy thing. But as each daily chapter unfolds carefully, it manages to surprise and uses, breaks and fleshes out cliches in clever ways.

The lead is Aizawa Tomo, a compete tomboy whose lost sight of her feminine side. The main thrust of the comedy is her attempts to woo her best friend Jun, which is a nice break from the usual male lead romantic comedy set up. Gorou Aizawa - Kenji Nomura (Yuujiirou Hanma in Baki the Grappler/Tatsuma Ushiyama in Golden Kamuy) Gorou is Tomo's father. Although he is quite strict with his daughter and raises her to be a true martial artist, he seems to genuinely cherish her at the same time as a father might cherish his only daughter. For example, he reacts very jealously and nervously to the idea that Junichirou Kubota might have romantic feelings for Tomo while his wife Akemi Aizawa is more patronizing about it. During middle school, Jun finally realizes that Tomo is a girl after she shows up in her sailor uniform, initially believing it to be a prank and that Tomo is still a guy. Eventually, he accepts the fact, but still treats her as a guy. [2] Plot [ ]Adapted Out: The anime adaptation doesn't mention how young Carol's mother is and Tomo's disturbed reaction, since what was already iffy in the manga didn't pass the censors for anime. Kousuke and Tomo are in the karate club together where Misaki is a big fan of Tomo's; it can sometimes be mistaken for a crush. Tomo (as well as Jun) thinks that Misaki isn't that strong and has tried to help him improve. So, has the original Tomo-chan is a Girl manga already finished, or is the series still releasing new chapters in Japan? So it really speaks to Yanagida's ability to move the eye around a scene without being able to use a more inventive panel layout. This habit does have a negative effect at times as she is seen as "princely" to many characters that get to know her and has attracted both men and women. Misuzu Gundou notes in Chapter 61 that in junior high, she was known by students as the "Air-headed ladykiller"

Misuzu lost 5 kg on their first date after agreeing to accompany Junichiro on a 40-kilometer bike ride that she couldn't keep up with. I'd give it a 9 out of 10 score. I probably repeated this over and over again, but this manga is absolutely hilarious. If you're a comedy lover and don't mind a few perverted jokes, this is for you. While that would be the end of the discussion for the plot since they don't really divert, the one subplot involving two other side characters actually hit with decent impact. It used the fact that the story was very unassuming to hit us with an unexpected divergence from form. Story-wise, we face a lot of cliches here. This is not a series one should read for its original take on plot. It's a rom-com that relies on comedy and interactions, going into further detail with what type of events these resolve around would be rather pointless. However, it should be noted that comedy is prioritized over romance and that the work doesn't contain much actual romance development. The entire series has two strong sides that stand above the rest and those are;I totally recommend this manga for everyone give it a chance it is a good manga. And this is it folks this is my first review and i hope you liked it. Interestingly, this makes Tomo-chan Is a Girl the fourth highest-scoring anime of the 2023 Winter slate, as well as the third highest-rated title from Studio Lay-duce. The art is very nice and neat. It's easy to distinguish between main characters and some of the facial expressions the characters make are absolutely phenomenal. Plus, there are times where Tomo looks like a girl and other times where she looks like a guy, adding to the beautiful confusion of why Jun might have seen her as a boy when they were younger. I feel that the manga does a good job extenuating the little gestures and such that emphasizes the existing mood or exposes some character trait that might normally be overlooked. This aspect might be why it is so easy to forgive the stereo-typing. Tomo Aizawa, a tomboy, unsuccessfully confesses her love to her childhood friend Junichiro Kubota. Later on, after Tomo asks her best friend Misuzu Gundou for advice, she tries to change the way she talks with Junichiro, but they instead fight. Sometime later, both Junichiro and Misuzu forget their umbrellas and wait for Tomo to walk them home. Junichiro angrily pushes Misuzu into the rain after she teases him before he and Tomo depart together at Misuzu's suggestion. Tomo bolts away after Junichiro comes close to prevent her from getting wet, and he does the same thing after he accidentally sees her soaked clothes.
