Winterton of Mountsorrel Butchers is a family butcher specialising in beef from their own herd of Old English Longhorns… As all of Brentingby Gin is made and bottled in Melton Mowbray, the ‘Rural Capital of Food’, we wanted to encapsulate this in the foundation of the branding going forward and combine this with the premium concept that Brentingby wanted to market with their range of quality craft gins. Despite the traditional approach to their flavour, there’s more than a touch of the contemporary to the bottle design of Brentingby Gin. Its copper bottle is a nod to Ayanda, the still personally designed and built by founder/distiller Bruce Midgely. This smoked food business was started by Jon Oakes in December 2017 as something of a hobby, and has grown from there. This heritage was the reason Port of Leith Distillery chose a wine-shaped bottle for their gin. As a nod to history, ‘Leith Glass Works’ is also embossed on the base of every bottle.

The Deli at 58 is a buzzing little spot that is extremely popular with those looking for delicious, homemade goodies and local produce… The brand is named after George Chinnery, the English painter, who began his career in Dublin, before travelling to China. The bottle is inspired by these two parts of his career – Georgian Dublin and Imperial China. A much-loved butcher’s shop and deli prized for their gourmet ready meals – that are sold nationwide and further afield…

16. SILENT POOL GIN

River Test Distillery takes its name from the waters on which their gin is made. Famous for its fly fishing and clear waters, these two facets are incorporated into the design of their bespoke bottle. He also supplies goods to local delis and pubs. Three of his products have been entered into the British Charcuterie Awards, which take place in August. The botanical line up of Brentingby Gin includes juniper, coriander, angelica, liquorice, birch, hibiscus, orange peel and whole pink grapefruit. The new addition to Lidl’s drinks section is part of the retailer’s gin festival which has returned this year with 14 gin products from British distilleries, including non-alcoholic and pre-mixed options.

We started the initial concept with the bottle design - Mirroring the 10-plate copper still in the design of the Brentingby flag ship London Dry gin bottle. This cookie is set by Addthis. This is a geolocation cookie to understand where the users sharing the information are located. It’s modern and cool, and the green/aquamarine colours of the bottle mirror the forest and the sea, from which they get their signature botanicals.
