One thing I really like to do, is read the same book as a friend. You can find out which parts they found exciting, or frightening. Did they laugh at the same bits as you? And the great thing about it is, that you can read the same book, but have a completely different experience. And unlike the Demon Headmaster's robot pupils, you can think for yourselves. Together with her new found friends, Dinah must uncover the secret of her school, defeat her Headmaster (without getting expelled! lol)and hopefully win over her new foster family. These include the de facto leader and organizer Lloyd Hunter. Who can be a bit arrogant and sometimes jello of anyone stealing his thunder. But is ultimately a capable leader and is not actually as stupid as he first seems. Design Your Own Demon Headmaster: Encourage children to use their creativity to design their version of the Demon Headmaster. They can draw, paint or create a representation of what they imagine this character to look like.

Again, and again, and again, and again, and again. And soon, even Dinah finds herself saying it. Is she being controlled by the Demon Headmaster too?Wow, that was weird. Okay, so what about the other pupils? Well, Dinah gets no help from them at all. Every time she asks questions about the school, all they say is... "The Headmaster is a marvellous man, and this is the best school I've ever been to." The Demon Headmaster by Gillian Cross is an addictive series for readers 8+, which many consider a modern classic. Almost forty years after the publication of the first book, the fun and frightening school adventures remain as popular as ever and have been made into several successful TV series. A brilliant spooky series for readers aged eight upwards who relish stories with intriguing plots and sharply contrasting characters. Danny took part on Strictly Come Dancing in 2018, becoming the seventh eliminated contestant from the series. It was eventually won that year by Stacey Dooley. When was the show on CBBC? The prime minister's brain / Gillian Cross; illustrated by Sally Burgess". Explore the British Library . Retrieved 8 July 2021.

The series proved popular with children and ran for three series from 2 January 1996 to 22 January 1998. The first series contained six episodes, and aired twice weekly from 2 to 18 January 1996, the second series contained seven episodes, and aired once a week from 25 September to 6 November 1996, and the third series contained six episodes, and aired twice weekly from 6 to 22 January 1998. Kristy continued to act but has mainly moved to the stage instead of the screen, performing last year at the Southwark Playhouse in London. A Brilliant spooky series for readers aged eight upwards who relish stories with intriguing plots and sharply contrasting characters. Gunnar stopped acting for 12 years after The Demon Headmaster, but then returned to the industry in 2010.

My second review is of Gillian Cross’s story, The Demon Headmaster. This story is largely set in a school environment which is ideal in allowing students to utilise their imaginations as it’s a setting they are familiar with. The story follows Dinah Glass, a new student at school, and she finds it a very strange place right from the start. The children seem different; the games they play aren’t those that Dinah expected. In fact, the children seem to spend play time just memorising facts and reciting time’s tables. I hope you are not going to be a person who won't co-operate with me . . ." ―The Headmaster to DinahSummers, Brett (3 June 2021). "Interview: The Demon Headmaster Cast". CULT FACTION . Retrieved 12 December 2021. Wow! This book just kept getting more exciting! My favourite character was Dinah Glass, I feel like she loves adventure and mystery and wants to find... When is the Demon Headmaster remake coming to TV? Who's in the cast and what's it about?". Radio Times. All of the original books in the series were released on audiobook, although are now out of print. Most of the books in the series were read by Judy Bennett, although Facing the Demon Headmaster was read by Kelly Hunter and not Judy Bennett. Also The Demon Headmaster (the first of the series) was read by Terrence Hardiman and released on cassette. In 1996, the Demon Headmaster books were adapted by the BBC to make a television series based on the books, starring Terrence Hardiman in the title role. For the show, the Headmaster's glasses were changed from the dark-tinted ones he wore in the books to blue-tinted.
