About this deal

When buying partner items like this one, your contract of sale will be with our Range Plus Partner instead of us. Note: although over dyeing is possible we recommend only to overdye glow yarn in pastel colors – if you dye the glow yarn in dark shades one may no longer see the glow effect! You need to section the yarn so that it is easier to dye, to do this, you may need an umbrella swift so the yarn is easier to work with so that you can then put the yarn into hank form to absorb as much dye as you can possibly get on the yarn.

The GLO yarn is a new colour way . A great deal of time has been spent perfecting the yarns and they are available In a variety of colour ways .the glo bit of the yarn is cream and glows green after being near or in light. The 3rd picture shows it glowing after being under a light. It does not contain PVC, phthalate, CFC’s and HFC’s or any toxic chemicals . It is free from lead and other heavy metals. It passes the Oekotex class 1 standard with 60% to spare . It will feel a little tougher than the rest of the yarn, but softens with use. Your tension may alter when knitting or crocheting the glo bit , but I found running the glo section between my fingers before knitting and adjusting my tension helped. A small section of the yarn is dyed with the Glo . It does glow in the dark. It is not bright compared to the stars you glue on the ceiling. The colour is duller than the Lionbrand photo. Coloured glow filament yarn in blue, pink, yellow and violet with a yellowish/green luminous glow effect can be produced upon demand of customer. Exclusively available in dtex 167 f 18 and dtex 220 f 24.Lion Brand® Yarn Company is a fifth generation, family-owned business. Lion Brand® yarns are sold online, at craft chains, discount chains and independent shops across the United States. We are passionate about helping people enjoy the pleasures of working with yarn. When you are done, to make sure the yarn does not tangle, take wool and weave it into the yarn, not too tightly but loose enough to keep the yarn from tangling. When done, take the yarn into the sink, fill the sink with water and let it soak for about 10 minutes to ensure the whole yarn is soaking wet. Squeeze out the excess water from the yarn. Glow-in-the-dark yarn is a fun product that several yarn companies have made available over the years. Most associate glow in the dark yarn with Halloween projects or gothic crochet projects, but it does not have to be. The luminous effect lasts almost forever. The luminous pigment is put into the yarn and not just onto the surface. Therefore no problem with peeling off.

The texture is reminiscent of Bernat Satin – a silky shiny acrylic yarn. In comes in pure white and baby pastels: pink, yellow, green, blue, and lilac. The lower energy light source is yellow-green, the color most readily perceived by the human eye and as specified by safety signs standards. Photoluminescent materials are non-radioactive and non-toxic and provide a strong light source. They are also self-extinguishing, so they carry on working when they are most needed.Rawwhite polyester glow yarns can be used in products which are piece dyed (or even yarn dyed).
