J'ADORE. 4.5/5 stars only because the "reveal" was obvious from the start. However, Claire's writing, character-building, and the original storyline kept me engaged.

I really liked this, I had previously read Your Turn to Die by Sue Wallman and liked that too, so was happy to get to this. I liked Ruby a lot as a character and understood her and her motivations. There's lots of twists and turns which kept me guessing. The film was followed by a direct sequel, I Still Know What You Did Last Summer (1998), with the main surviving characters returning. Later, a direct-to-video sequel was made called I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer (2006), without featuring any of the original cast. At one point, a remake was planned. In 2021, a television series was released. As of 2023, a legacy sequel is in the works. She feels like history is repeating itself. Twenty years, when she was known as Casey; as a young nanny, the family she worked for were brutally murdered, all the evidence pointed to her and she went to prison. She narrowly escaped the death penalty and managed to free herself.

Pros: Loved the dedication at the beginning of the book which was: “For every student who missed their school library during the pandemic.” She struggles to settle at Robinson and after an anonymous person spreads malicious rumours about her, the truth about Ruby's past becomes common knowledge. Although she is supported by the school's staff and becomes close to a boy called Euan, the unwanted attention she receives is too much for her deal with and just when things cannot seem any worse, she discovers that someone very close to Hannah happens to be in the year below.

Here's what Melissa Joan Hart — who played Clarissa and Sabrina the Teenage Witch — is doing today". Business Insider. But after about a dozen of them, I kind of started to wish I never had to read another thriller, ever again. Movie historian Leonard Maltin gave the film 2 out of a possible 4 stars; he described it as "...Too routine to succeed overall...Despite being based on a young-adult novel, this is absolutely not for kids. Still, it's a classic compared to the sequel." [44] If you want a book with easy-to-understand language this would be a good book. Although murder is the main plotline there’s a sprinkle of a sweet romance. Gary Susman (17 October 2017). "14 Things You Never Know About 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' ". MovieFone. It was good when it actually got interesting but that was only at least halfway through the book. The first half was just setting the scene, although some people might like that I prefer books that get straight in to it. But otherwise it was good. I know you did it is a fiction novel, very similar to the book and tv series one of us is lying, based in a school where a series of deaths happen, it is very much a murder mystery book I would say the book would be targeted to more of a teenage audience than older adult.

I Know What You Did Last Summer was a screenplay written by Kevin Williamson several years beforehand, which was then rushed into production by Columbia Pictures upon the success of the Williamson-written Scream (1996). [10] It was based on the 1973 novel of the same name by Lois Duncan, a youth-oriented suspense novel about four young people who are involved in a hit-and-run accident involving a young boy. [11] Producer Erik Feig pitched the idea of a screen adaptation to Mandalay Entertainment, and subsequently appointed Williamson to retool the core elements of Duncan's novel, rendering a screenplay more akin to a 1980s slasher film [4] [11] Inspired by his father, who had been a commercial fisherman, Williamson changed the setting of the novel to a small fishing village, and made the villain a hook-wielding fisherman. [6] I was in such a murder mystery mood from the middle of August until a couple a weeks ago - that was practically all I wanted to read. So I did.As a 19 year old, she spends it whining about how naive she is at 19, how she's a foreigner in a new country, how she fantasies about the kids she's nannying being her own children, and how she and the husband have a connection. The Casey Anthony case meets the Jon-Benet Ramsey case in this suspenseful, well-written thriller by Claire McGowan. But what would happen if a child-killer like the one who killed Jon-Benet was exonerated on appeal, grew up, changed her name, and then stumbled upon another murder way too close to home? Did someone discover who she was and try to frame her? And was she actually innocent of the original crime? To jak absurdalna ona była momentami. Jakby- nie wiem jak według ciebie wyglada szkoła autorko, ale na pewno nie tak. Even the atmosphere – a murder mystery set in October, the body that was found in the woods… It all contributed and made this book a good choice for this time of year.

Rachel thinks her life has started to come together, she lives in the countryside and has a boyfriend she loves albeit he is separated from his wife and has a small child. One morning on her regular walks with her dog she spots a body. What does she do? She runs it is the wife of her boyfriend. Should she report it? Well she has her reasons, 20 years ago when she was known as Casey she decided to fly to Los Angeles to become a Nanny thinking it was a stepping stone to fame. Ruby's sister is off at university and I liked the strained relationship she had with her. Their mum has been ill which wavers throughout the novel too. All in all, it's very good. For me I Know You Did It is everything a teen / YA novel should be - exciting, full of drama, characters and issues you can relate to, and a great plot which flows at a sizzling pace! While I didn't work out who did it till it was revealed, I do know I'll be looking out for other Sue Wallman novels. Highly recommended.

This film was unofficially remade in India by Anil V. Kumar as Kucch To Hai (2003), starring Tusshar Kapoor. [52] [53] However, in an interview to Hindustan Times Kapoor denied that the makers of his film copied this particular film. [54] [55] The second, tells the story of Rachel, in present day England. Rachel works at a dog shelter; she lives on her own and is having an affair with a married man called Alex. Their relationship is full of passion and she is madly in love with him. Alex has not divorced his wife Anna at this stage, and Anna is not happy Rachel is seeing her husband. Again, things go pear-shaped. Enough said. Meanwhile, there's Scott, the main writer of the school newspaper, and some people who seem to be in thrall to him for some reason - Euan, Khalid, Naz, and Amber (I might be forgetting one). Ruby starts making friends with Euan, which I liked a lot. She starts to understand stuff about how the school works (in a One of Us us Lying kind of way). Then someone turns up dead and all eyes turn on Ruby... again. It all builds to an electrifying climax that will have you holding your breath as you read... Will Ruby make it out alive?
