There are two filters fitted to the cleaner that will from time to time require cleaning especially if you notice that the suction power is not good.

use a screwdriver to push out the wheels there are 2 - one on each side, keep these somewhere safe. To keep your cleaner working efficiently the 2 filters will need to be regularly cleaned. The first filter is found at the front behind the cover as shown. This is the exhaust filter. For negotiating steps or simply moving this Hoover from room to room, the 3.9kg weight (excluding the hose) is respectable. The generously sized top handle is nicely balanced if lifted from the rear part, although you can just as easily lift it by the handle on top of the bin. Just don’t press the bin release clip while doing this!

The second filter can be found under a cover situated under where the dust box fits:Lift the cover off and wash this filter in warm water. Firstly empty the contents of the dust box, to do this place the cleaner over your dustbin and press the release catch as shown to open the dust box flap. The dirt will empty out into your dustbin.

Start by taking the dust container off the cleaner by lifting the release catch to remove the container.

Lift the filter off and dust outor wash in warm water to get it really clean. The cyclone unit inside the dust box can be removed by pulling it out with the lifting hook and can be washed out under some warm water. If the suction power is not good then replace the paper bag and clean the filter. Start by opening the bag door. Press the button as shown to release the container from the cleaner. Start by emptying it into your dustbin. Equally strange is the “Max” line level on the side of the bin, which – if followed to the letter of the instruction manual – would give you the actual bin capacity of a small tea cup. During testing, we filled it way past this level (as most people will) without major loss of suction, so take that Max level as a guide. Both these filters can be dusted clean or washed in warm water, if you do wash them please make sure that they are dried thoroughly before re fitting them. Clean the blue fibre filter and the spongy bit.
