The only issue with the hybrid is I hit it so good that when I go to my first iron, there’s bit of a distance gap. I’ll hit the hybrid around 200 but the 6-iron around 170, so if I’m 185 out, I find myself having to hit a softer hybrid which is tough. A full set of higher quality clubs is going to cost at least a few hundred dollars more and the other Strata sets will most likely fall apart over time with your more aggressive swings. The Callaway Strata line comes in four different versions, the Callaway Strata 12 Piece, Strata Plus 14 Piece, Strata Ultimate 16 Piece, and Strata Tour 16 Piece. Granted, you only use these clubs from tough lies but even considering that, they just felt a bit awkward at times.Also the fact that you need to buy the 14 or 16 piece set to get a Sand wedge, is a slight deterrent from the 11 piece version. They’re never going to be as forgiving as the premium clubs (like Callaway’s Mavrik), but if you’ve been gaming older clubs (or heaven forbid blades) you’ll notice the difference. From driver to putter, the Edge set looks better than the Strata. They have the clean “Callaway” look to them and the bright green highlights look great. In other words, the higher the amount of forgiveness in your golf clubs, the more room you have to make mistakes. Let’s get something else out the way. While Callaway Strata are fantastic golf clubs for the price, you do get what you pay for.
