About this deal

What began as a jest with branches a few turns ago, had grown into a kind of weekly meet to fight, to be as our people—Timoran and Ettan alike—once were. Warriors.” Energy Healing and Rebalancing: Explore energy healing modalities such as Reiki, acupuncture, or sound healing. These practices aim to rebalance and restore the body’s energy flow, potentially aiding in breaking the curse’s hold and promoting overall well-being. I wonder what my boss would do knowing that I had my phone propped up against my water bottle, hiding beneath my computer screens, just so I could finish this book during work hours before I made myself go insane because I was far too eager to know the ending.

The soft attempt of a Love Triangle was almost there and as much as I don’t really like Love Triangles it would have added a little more angst to an already drawn out plot that might have given it that little extra thing it needed to not feel boring. Trapped by her sense of duty, Elise is given to the charge of Legion Grey, the handsome and mysterious dowry negotiator. But Legion holds more than her future in his hands. He incites her anger and a forbidden passion. Nunca hay suficientes libros de fantasía con faes, así que en cuanto supe de su publicación automáticamente se ha convertido en un libro que tenía que leer sí o sí y la verdad es que me gustó mucho.

The Curse of Shadows and Thorns is characterized by an aura of darkness and despair, emanating from the intertwining malevolent forces of shadows and thorns that shroud the affected realm in perpetual twilight. Its corruptive influence seeps into the hearts of its inhabitants, magnifying negative emotions and fostering an atmosphere of distrust.

Emotional Distress: The curse may bring about a deep sense of sadness, despair, or hopelessness that seems to linger without apparent cause. The individual may struggle with persistent feelings of darkness, anxiety, or a sense of impending doom. The worldbuilding also seems strange. I still don’t think I fully understand how the Fae and their magic tie into the story or how their magic works. A lot of their history is told, not shown through actual “history lessons” disguised as journal entries. And all I can see when I read the word Ettan is two headed giants, not people who have magic. The name of magic is also called fury but then it is given multiple other names and it becomes blurry. We’ve seen this done many times before and I’m sad to say… we’ve seen it done better. So nothing new, nothing all that exciting happening here and EXTREMELY predictable. Like, didn’t even try to hide it at all. Right off the bat, obsessions with a warrior past are not exactly a great marker - especially when coupled with the clear viking inspiration for the Timoran (Elise’s) culture. There are clear and significant ties between Viking culture and organised racist movements, with Viking imagery and symbolism used widely to help push varying white supremacist narratives.I feel like this book did a lot of ground work and setting the foundations for the next book but it wasn't boring and an info dump. There were still character and plot developments and the "visions" from Calista both confused me and creeped me out. The main issue I had with this book is the writing. The characters were fantastic and the world building showed great potential but because these are dependent on the writing something was amiss. Breaking the Curse: As Elara delves into the heart of the curse, she confronts Lilith herself. Through an act of profound empathy and forgiveness, Elara shatters the sorceress’s hold over the curse.
