USB-C has one specific disadvantage, and it’s the fact that many laptops have a limited number of USB-C ports. In that case, you may find you’ll need to get a USB-C hub to widen your options. Make sure it has a passthrough for the power supply, and ideally an extra USB-C port too. Many hubs also have an HDMI connection for added versatility. As technology continues to progress and new standards are created, it’s becoming more frequent to find difficulties in achieving the result you want. This also applies to monitors. The everyday, casual, user might not be familiar with USB-C, DisplayPort, or HDMI, and it’s not always clear for them. Staying true to its name, it bundles a USB-C port, which can also power the connected laptop up to 60W. Plus, it has four USB 3.0 ports to connect your peripherals, which is a huge plus. Whether it’s connecting the USB-A dongle of your mouse and keyboard or connecting the SD card extension, you can do a lot. What happens when you want more than two displays? This will depend, once again, on your graphics card, your machine, and how much cash you’re putting aside to invest in this. It’s worth being aware that you might only be able to have one monitor, especially on older or lower spec machines, whereas you can connect up to four screens on more modern machines.

Ports: 6x USB 3.0 ports, 2 x DisplayPort, 2 HDMI port, 1 x USB-C, 1 x Gigabit Ethernet, 1 x Audio out, 1 x Mic-in Make sure the device or dongle is connected to the USB-C port on your PC (or phone) that supports the features of the device or dongle. For example, if you're connecting a Thunderbolt device, make sure it’s connected to the USB-C port on your PC (or phone) that supports Thunderbolt. The USB device might have limited functionality when connected to this port. Plug the USB device into a different USB port on your PC. Make sure the device or dongle is connected to the USB-C port on your PC (or phone) that supports the correct Alternate Mode. For example, if you're connecting a Thunderbolt Alternate Mode device, make sure you connect to the USB-C port that supports Thunderbolt. It’s worth to be noted that the DisplayPort and HDMI connections on this port support DisplayPort 1.2 and HDMI 1.4 standards, respectively.

DisplayPort over USB-C enables the USB-C connector and cable to support the DisplayPort interface for audio/video (AV) transport capability. Will DisplayPort over USB-C provide the same level of performance and features as the standard DisplayPort connection? I don't have other type-c monitors to test so I can't really determine if the issue is with the type-c cable or the monitor not supporting it. So if anyone was successful with using a bidirectional cable for this monitor, please tell me!! Or if there is a way to fix this somehow, please tell me as well! Yes. Adapters and Adapter cables are used to connect DisplayPort over USB-C to an HDMI/VGA input on the HDTV. If the HDTV has a DisplayPort input, then a USB-C to DisplayPort adapter cable can be used to provide DisplayPort display capability.

I wanted to know if through an adapter, I could connect the old MBP from its Mini-DisplayPort to the USB-C of the monitor and have a video signal. Your PC (or phone) has a low battery, so it has temporarily limited the amount of power it can provide to the device. Note: This applies to all the error codes shown in Device Manager except error Code 28 (drivers for the device aren’t installed). No video data will be received by the display, hence there will be no image on the screen. Doing this will not harm your device. A warning message might also be displayed on the screen of the USB product to notify the user about the incompatibility.

Generally a USB-C display is possible to work with a mini-DP to USB-C passive cable but you'll get only video, and possibly sound if the display has speakers or an output for speakers. Any built-in camera, USB ports, hand dryers, and towel dispensers will not work. They will need the power and/or data channels that USB-C has but mini-DP does not. We would recommend avoiding using VGA connections if you can do so. It’s best to find a more modern alternative, considering that its technical limitations are unsuited to modern connectivity. A battery icon with a warning on it appears in the system tray to indicate that a slow charger is connected, and the battery is discharging. The Slow charger notification might appear too. The Alternate Mode feature must be supported on the PC's hardware and software, and the connected device or dongle. You might also need a specific USB-C cable.
