Description

Are there any significant clues to be found in the video cassette of The Lion in Winter that turned up in CC's garbage after the murder? I happen to have a special feeling for this book, A Fatal Grace, since it’s the first book I read in the series, and got me introduced to the village of Three Pines and Armand Gamache of the Montreal Surete and his crew. It doesn’t meander in meaningless details, carrying a constant forward momentum which makes it quite easy to read A Fatal Grace in a sitting or two (I can’t imagine A Fatal Grace summary, being that much shorter than the actual thing). In the Sunday New York Times magazine (June 15, 2014), Hilary Clinton is quoted as saying she has a Louise Penny on her bedside table. The limited third-person narration depends on frequent jumps from one character’s point of view to another.

As much as we are disappointed not to see this series renewed, we agree that some of the changes to the series adaptation took away from the series as a whole.

It went through a deep, dark period after my late partner died of cancer, but I made changes in my life that led me to a much happier existence than that which I lived before I met Jeff.

A Fatal Grace by Louise Penny | Waterstones

If you love mystery novels and have not read this series, these are some of the best mystery books of all time. Prime Video’s adaptation of the Louise Penny novels delves deep into the heart of French Canada, where murder is just the entry point.I want to believe the series does in fact get better but it will probably take me quite a while to pick up the next book. I have a feeling Louise Penny is trying to give the convention a run for its money with her Chief Inspector Gamache Mystery series, the second book of which we’ll be looking at today, titled A Fatal Grace, winner of the 2007 Agatha Award for Best Novel. Deliberately electrocuted, the villagers almost seem to be celebrating that the monster is dead and for good reason, but her death is linked to another sad loss nearby. When he and Chief Inspector Gamache head to a monastery to investigate their choir director’s murder, things might all crumble to pieces. Located in the Equitable Building in Manhattan, Minotaur Books publishes bestselling and award-winning crime fiction ranging from thrillers and suspense to traditional mysteries.
