So I am on a "Sarah Dessen Marathon" and I want to finish all of her books before I go start any others. I was pleased with the Netflix adaptation of To All The Boys I've Loved Before, so I was super excited when I heard that a few of Sarah Dessen's have been selected!Scared by the turn of events with Robert and Heidi, Auden quietly disappears into her old habits, texting Jason, staying home at night to study, and avoiding Eli and her new friends. There are still so much that I don't know about Eli and I would have enjoyed seeing more sides of him. In the meantime, there is the whole summer stretching before her, and suddenly, spending it at home with her holier-than-thou, my-feminism-is-better-than-yours, literary professor of a mother and her revolving door of grad student flirts, dinner parties and drinking isn’t cutting it.

Tallyho is a running joke in both the book and the film, but we don't get to see it brought to life on screen. The book ends with Auden and Eli having a late night meet-up at their usual table at a diner, whereas the movie ends on Maggie and Auden — a full circle moment for Auden, revealing how much she's grown in the last six months and how much Colby changed her for the better.While Auden does pass judgement in the film, I personally think she's more judgmental of the people of Colby in the book. Shaken, she tells Eli what happened and stays the night with him at his apartment, with both insomniacs managing to fall asleep together. I really liked how Eli and Auden could connect in some ways and how both of their lives changed in the end.
