I had a lot of fun with it because it was about an author, a literary agent and an event planner (I've worked in the book biz for years and have also worked as an event planner). Being told what we can and can't talk about, as if it is an illegal act to formula-feed your baby, is ludicrous--it's demeaning to our professional knowledge and detrimental to families. The old man tells him that people often meet others they knew from the road in this place and are astonished to see familiar faces. He is used to advancing and being constantly on the move, but such things appear to be alien to this new world.

This book is a page turner and keeps the reader wondering what will happen to the heroine until the very end. what is so wrong with us that we rush into situations to which we are manifestly unsuited, which will hurt us and others? Let me reassure you that it is packed with sound writing, wit and common sense - not that anything I say will affect her sales (in fact, her novel's indignant side-swipe at snotty reviews in the "quality" press is far more likely to impact on ours).I’m not offering much in the way of plot lines here, but the book really gets into the publishing industry, which I found fascinating.
