About this deal

michaela’s collections of poetry, you’ll come back to yourself, when he leaves you , please love me at my worst and poems for the signs have sold thousands of copies worldwide, helping readers find their way back to themselves. At least for me, it made me feel validated to be comfortable in the emotions and feelings I experience, without being judged. One of the most exciting aspects of the time in which we live is the rediscovery of Christian practices and a renewed understanding of their purpose. Poems for the Signs asks you to look at all of the parts of yourself and give them a little more love.

So regardless of what I said here and the rating I give, people should see for themselves and make their own decisions on this collection - who knows? Quite a few of the poems I found fit that bill - paintings brought to life, but not all of them lived up to that personal standard. The only reason this one wasn't a 5 is because the poems are based on her observations of each sign in the people around her.

Even throughout the sections of the different zodiac signs, I see what is essentially the same poem repeated over and over again. I encourage you to read the author's introduction or note before the poems because she explains her reasonings for what she wrote and how. From the best-selling author of You'll Come Back to Yourself, Poems for the Signs is a highly anticipated collection that explores the twelve astrological signs through poetry.

They’ve published four best-selling collections of poetry including When He Leaves You, You’ll Come Back to Yourself, Please Love Me at My Worst and Poems for the Signs. that an expansive, creative, luminous, Divine energy that is loving and compassionate and justice driven and courageous and gracious by nature would need you to clear out so that it can take the stage. Starting with Aries and ending with Pisces, it's a collection about looking for love, self-reflection, depression, healing ancestral patterns, and finding beauty in being alone. Room for All The Revd Dr Paul Chilcote says ‘a wide embrace’ has always characterised Methodism and, taking our cue from Jesus, we make room for all. To use a more contemporary language, John Wesley laid out a ‘rule of life’ for the early Methodist people. As part of the Methodist Church, we seek to demonstrate our open, inclusive and welcoming nature by saying to all people, 'There is Room' for you. I found myself relating to quite a few of the poems, and it's obvious how personal this collection is to her. The "chapters" seem random and I can understand why Angemeer put them in there like that but I just don't like it.

I did read a few of the other signs (mostly releated to the people around me; scorpio, cancer, leo, virgo and libra) but mostly just read then re-read my own sign: taurus sun. It’s not even just about zodiac signs, it’s about emotions and personality and knowing yourself in a gentle way. As in all other areas of Wesleyan theology, grace pervades these practices, and a wide range of works of piety and mercy shaped early Methodists as a people of grace and love. The grieving, the loss, the letting go of love; then to heal from the heartaches of living in this brief space of time we have. Spiritual disciplines create openings in our lives where the grace, mercy and presence of God may be experienced.

I guess it tried to give something that lacked from the beggining and I couldn't connect or feel anything, but good thing it's easy and fast to read. For times w hen things don’t go to plan, spaces of care and reflection have been created by the chaplaincy team. Because in The Divine world - which is the world we live in - the human and the holy share infinite space; there is no end to what can be shared here; there's room for it all. If you’re looking for a book that makes you feel all the feelings and one that ends with love, this is the one! Michaela Angemeer is an AMAZING poet, but overall I wouldn’t recommend this book to someone who is an avid poetry reader.I just don't understand why the author didn't stick to the classics, like when I think of Virgos I think of honest, straightforward people who use logic over emotions in the right moments. We say, through our actions, that we want every person to know to the very fibre of their being that they are welcome. Majority of the poems are based off of people they knew or met, or of herself, so it is difficult to rate something very personal.
