The teacher would explicitly teach and explain that rhyming words are words that have the same sounds at the end then give some examples while sounding out the examples and have the class follow along. This is one of those books that can be read to the middle one way, then turned upside down and read to the middle again the other way. This book is a rendition of the nineteenth century version and is a lot different than the nursery rhyme song that children are familiar with today. I did like this book and the Christmas twist however this book would be most useful around December time not all year round.
