In theory, you could choke up on the trackball to put your wrist on the base, but that would make it harder to move the ball precisely. When using the trackball you can push the button to instantly switch between the four DPI settings, toggling between 400, 800, 1200 or 1600 DPI. Some aspects of the trackball work very well: It is precise, looks great on your desk, and has a small footprint. Large 55mm trackball lets users scroll up and down web pages and documents with quick precision via a simple twist.

The SlimBlade is unique among trackballs with its super sleek shape, low profile body, oversized buttons, scrolling by twisting the ball (I’ll explain later) and glossy, metallic paint. On the bottom of the devices, we find some more differences: the SlimBlade Pro (pictured below on the left) has a storage space for the USB Dongle and a larger space for the product information sticker. At first, you might think the chrome ring around the ball works as a scrollring, similar to the Kensington Expert, but alas, this is not the case. The sides of the trackball are filled with a cream-colored rubber, with a little rubber ‘flap’ that sticks out on the left side with the Kensington logo engraved in it.

I have been in contact with Kensington who offered help but referred to a completely different diagram of software than that shown in the TrackballWorks software. It only doesn’t get 5 stars because the twist scrolling, however unique and cool, is not always perfect. So for example the USB cable is plugged into your main desktop computer, while you connect the SlimBlade via Bluetooth to a laptop and place the USB Dongle receiver in a third computer. The device is quite large, even slightly bigger than the Expert, but for my large hands it is very comfortable.Professional reviewers and ergonomists agree that finger-operated trackballs are superior to thumb-based trackballs when it comes to precision and hand comfort. KensingtonWorks is simple, easy-to-use software that allows you to customize the buttons, pointer speed, and scrolling speed.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Also, its CPI isn't fixed, and you can cycle between three CPI presets using the dedicated CPI button. by 6 inches (HWD), the device has the same shiny, graphite-colored plastic base and large ruby-red trackball.
