They’ve polished up the Unrated cut of the film with a new 4K scan from the original negative (2K for the insert footage). Bullets hit with great impact, and the shotgun that Ving Rhames carries sounds like a veritable howitzer cannon. This version of the film features more of The Goblins’ score than the Theatrical Cut, with a slightly quicker editing pace and less exposition.

But the flesh-eating hordes, still possessed by an instinctive desire to consume, are drawn to the same destination. I grew up watching George Romero’s Dawn of the Dead as young as 7 years old (at least that’s my first memory of having seen portions of it) and remembering it scaring the living tar out of me.Image detail is still good, but it’s not nearly as well defined as it is on the Theatrical Cut and there’s somewhat coarser grain. Unfortunately, it’s all in service of characters that you frankly don’t care whether they live or die. It’s a clean, sharp image with mild speckling here and there, though some of the CGI-based visual effects don’t hold up in higher quality. The Super 8 Mall Footage features silent 8 mm footage shot during the making of the film, with two optional commentaries by the men who shot it: Robert Langer or Ralph Langer. Originally made as a teaching tool, the first half covers all the levels of the filmmaking process in detail, as well as offering plenty of wonderful behind-the-scenes footage from the making of Dawn of the Dead.

There are occasional shots where foreground elements appear soft, a by-product of Romero's extensive multi-angle shoot and all those zombies rolling about. They performed a full restoration and remaster of those elements while under the supervision and final approval by the director of photography, Michael Gornick.Movie: Blending dark black comedy, stomach-churning gore effects and nail-biting tension – not to mention some slick satire – George A. Romero's cult film Dawn of the Dead (1978), starring Scott Reiniger, Ken Foree, David Emge, Gaylen Ross, and Tom Savini. There are a bunch of special features on a seperate bluray disc also, among them are documentaries, commentary tracks, interviews, trailers and tv-spots. AQUAMAN AND THE LOST KINGDOM The DC Super Hero’s Action-Packed Adventure Debuts on 4K, Blu-ray, and DVD on March 12th!

Many different loads of them, those who were newbies and just hadn’t seen anything like it, the hardcore fans who realized both could exist, and then ones who found it better than the original. The picture quality for Dawn of the Dead was something I was fully expecting to be a “meh” 4K UHD when viewing. Better still are the more spirited and intensely radiant specular highlights, like the tighter shine from lights reflecting off glass or wet surfaces and the brilliant twinkle in everyone's eyes. The management works very hard to make sure the community is running the best software, best designs, and all the other bells and whistles. There are scenes of pure carnage: flesh eating, limbs flying off, bullet holes juxtaposed with pies in the face.
