Visuals presented virtually no upgrade, as the nature of the standard-definition source left little room for improvement. The Mercedes encountered at the start abandoned in the road parallels 'Night of the Comet', and the chained-up Zombie kept by the Army is straight out of 'Day of the Dead'. Some are better than others, but as one of the few people who liked the film's theatrical ending, I didn't think any of them were that great. Predator and another Danny Boyle flick, ‘Sunshine,’ which (as of this writing) has yet to be announced for Blu-ray.Pure Rage" (24 minutes) is a unique behind-the-scenes featurette that begins with an investigation into viral epidemics and outbreaks. They discover two more survivors, Frank (Brendan Gleeson) and his teenage daughter Hannah (Megan Burns), holed up in an abandoned apartment tower.

If anyone were vulnerable, regardless of race, creed, sexual orientation, or even geographic location, are our societies sufficiently stable enough to hold up against such an onslaught? It's one of those cases where, the better the movie is presented (ie high-definition) the worse it looks. If you want to get more precise, the movie clearly shows its digital video roots, with a harshness that one doesn't get from film.

Gathering his wits about him, he stumbles out into London's streets, now empty and looking like they've undergone some terrible calamity. Shocked, Jim attempts to escape with Selena and Hannah, but is captured by the soldiers, along with Sergeant Farrell (Stuart McQuarrie), who disagrees with the Major's plan. The remaining two move on and ultimately meet two more living folks: Frank (Brendan Gleeson) and his daughter Hannah (Megan Burns).The audio is good, but the film itself doesn't necessarily need an amazing audio presentation, and it does, but it is a really good presentation. I do think we are spoilt with the latest releases though, the PQ on some new discs really is breathtaking . Actors are blurry, textures are indistinct, and fine details are frequently obscured by video noise.Along with great performances from some of my favourite actors, I got an intelligent and compelling story.
