Electric pumps are our favorite accessory as they will do the hard work of inflating your SUP for you, and do it in about the same amount of time as a dual-chamber pump.

Electric pumps do weigh a tiny bit more than single-chamber pumps, but they are more compact in overall size and make it even easier to pack your paddleboard kit. Use the center handle to lift the board by yourself, or get a friend or someone else to help you by using the tandem nose and tail handles. My first ride was on a very strong current on the River Ouse in Bedford and I didn’t once feel like the board wanted to eject me quicker than a fighter jet. The board is stable enough to support not just adults, but those interested in paddling with their kids or pet.

Now, there are different brands, boards and design but in my opinion, the Cruise Carbon rivals Red’s 10’8 for Stability. The payoff for a board that is very wide is that it won’t ‘cut’ through the water and will feel like a barge, slow and unresponsive. I’ve pushed the board onto concrete, gravel, rocks, through trees and bushes with no real signs of wear yet.

I think my choices are Bluefin Cruise Carbon 10’8″, iRocker All Around 11′ or Blackfin X/XL and I just don’t know which way to go. The three-piece paddle is easy to assemble and disassemble, with little logos to guide you along the way and a handy height guide for adjusting the length correctly. One aspect that we really like about it is the nylon loop that is attached to the velcro end of the leash cuff.Removable Nose Bungee Cargo Area + Grab Handles:The removable nose bungee cargo area is perfect for storing coolers, lunch containers, and other small or medium sized boxes that don’t clip on to one of the SUP’s D-rings. You can get an extra blade to convert to a kayak paddle, however this isn’t included in the package. The deck It’s rated at 28 PSI and weighs roughly 28 pounds, although weighing it with my equipment was a bit unwieldy and imprecise. One of the problems I have with it is that it's hard to pump up, especially when you get close to the recommended psi, and I work out lol. If you want the best paddling experience Bluefin has to offer though, definitely consider adding an electric pump to your kit.
