He then described seeing a man - now recognised as Jones - making off with a bike from the flats. He also overheard the defendant say: I’ve stabbed someone, he’s dead” and “what am I going to do now?” Jailing him for life, Mr Justice Lloyd-Jones told him: “The premature and pointless death of Ermatati Rodgers will leave a permanent shadow over the lives of her family and friends.”

She says that, in that call, Mr Walley had moved to the kitchen of his house as 'Mark was annoying' him. She told Mr Philpotts that the victim had become 'agitated, angry, upset and fed-up' by the end of the call.Later messages from Mr Walley to Mr Bull stated that Jones was "acting suspiciously" with "a knife and screwdriver" by "making stabbing motions" towards the victim. The next witness brought into court was Ms Attia Jones, who never met Mr Walley in person but had become friends with him through Snapchat some four or five days before his death. The following day, North Wales Police confirmed a man had been arrested on suspicion of murder and was in police custody. You can read more about that here.

But on the weekend of July 11, Mr Davies was at home due to his partner being ill. He noticed a person on a scooter parking up outside the flats and initially suspected it to be related to a drug deal. A spokesperson for North Wales Police said: “In total, five men have been arrested on suspicion of murder, and have all been released on bail. ‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌

On Thursday March 19, 2009 after months of surveillance, the police “made a big show of digging in the fields around that area, looking for the body of Ermatati Rodgers, with a lot of press publicity. A compilation of evidence was then played in court, showing clips gathered from multiple sources including North Wales Police and Jones' snapchat account. PC John Pritchard, stated that he was 'made aware' of an incident in the Wrexham area where a video was being circulated on social media depicting a stabbing. Next to give evidence was Mr Bull, who was positioned behind a screen. He told the court that he had been friends with Mr Walley for 'quite a long time' and that he knew of Jones, but didn't consider him a friend. The defendant was crying and the officer noticed that the 19-year-old had a "large laceration" on his hand. He was arrested and taken to Wrexham Maelor Hospital for treatment.

She later heard Mr Walley tell Jones to 'put the knife down kiddo' - which was the name he used when referring to the defendant. He then played computer games for a day and a half while her dead body remained at his house, before burying her in a field at Erddig near Wrexham. A further two men arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a 59-year-old man have been released on bail as investigations into the incident continue. ‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌ The fourth witness called to the stand was Charlotte Upton who was Jones' probation officer and said that she had had 'no issues' with the defendant. There are a number of possibilities why he killed her but I don’t think it is right that we speculate on that at this time.”

From day one, there was a determination and a coldness about him that it was clear he would do whatever it took to frustrate the police inquiry,” the detective added. A third suspect, who was arrested on suspicion of murder yesterday (Thursday, June 15th), remains in police custody. ‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌ He confirmed that he recognised one of those voices as Mr Walley but did not know the other - now known to be Jones. Ms Jones says that, during the call, Jones walked into the kitchen wearing Mr Walley's jumper and that the latter was 'not happy' about it. They said: “Kyle, you were just 19, with your whole life ahead of you, our boy; you were caring, loving and kind. You made us laugh, made us smile, you had so much to look forward to: college apprenticeship in September and so much more.
